Another year of the Cadian Shock Blog is complete! It was an odd year that started with loads of individual characters because of not knowing how Warhammer 40K 10th Edition would shape up. During this time, I decided to go into 30K also; hence the Iron Warriors force taking shape through the second half of the year.

2023 Hobby Goals

How did I measure up against my goals for 2023;

• Complete new Cadia Box models; Ordnance Teams and Sentinels – Done
• Complete the Crassus – I got sidetracked by the Atlas and Centaur, as they became available on eBay, and I had to have them!
• Complete my Valhallan Regiment – 60+ infantry and 6 Chimeras – this has taken a backseat now that Regiments are not a thing in Warhammer 40K 10th Edition.

Hobby Goals For 2024

It seems I do not stick to these. But I continue to paint and grow my hobby output – which is excellent. And maybe all that is needed. With 40K 10th Edition out now, though, I feel like it is easier to focus;

• Complete 21 Krieg Veteran Guardsmen
• 10 Orks
• 3,000 points of painted Iron Warriors for Horus Heresy
• A large Cadian vehicle
• More Necroumunda extras
• Thunderbolt diorama

Fixes

This year, I fixed the broken models I had;

• Bent Inquisitor Coteaz’s Hammer – Finecast.
• I painted all Assassin bases to Steel Legion Drab, from black to match all my other bases.
• I reattached Inquisitor Draxus’ little dragon, called Shang.
• My Callidus Assassin’s blade had snapped, so I used the spare Power Sword from the new Commissar model to fix that.
• Trojan’s hatch and crane.
• Wyvern turret.

Necromunda

The Necromunda campaign with my Corpse Grinder Cult continued between myself, Chris’ Orlocks and Matt’s Escher.
